Being angry is no excuse for not being able to read posts and think :/

It is also there opinion on the matter, wich is what most dissusions on these board are about. Very few people have actualy spoken to the devs.

Right, and thats exactly why some people should stop picking up quotes from the Guild Wars websites and taking them out of context. The stuff on that website can be interpretted in many different ways and no one except a few people in this topic have actually spoken with the devs.

If people start quoting posts, and the response is something that has no merit based on said quote-they are not reading. It's happened many times in this thread already and we still have people arguing against things that have been buried pages ago.

I feel the same way as some of the others, and that is Beta was for testing all of the game. They didnt *have* to tell me that some things would be different come relese, its just common sence.

It's not that we didn't know a change was possible-it's the actual change itself. From the gem system, to the ring/charm system, to the SoC and the Soc/Elite system skill acquisition has gotten worse. No one expected it because people always complained about it so this option is just mind boggling to most. When Alpha testers say that not even we knew it's not meant like "o crap we dont know what testing is"-it's meant to let people know how out of the blue it came.

EDIT: To Rex, people that think you can determin what is and isnt grind after two weeks have not realy experinced "true" grind. Now I say true grind because some people seem to think that chalenge=grind, it dosent. Grind is when you have to play 5 hours a day just to stay equal with the other players, at lest that is the kind of "grind" that Anet is trying to phase out. I love a game that can challenge me and keep me intertained at the same time. This game is just right for me.
|
What's grind to you is different to someone else. If you call PvE challenging, I can safely say from my p.o.v. it's easy. But I still think it's grind. It's grind because it's annoying to have to quest for everything, save my finite skill points and play around with the horrible SoC. I dont like it, you may. But I hardly see it as a challenge, it's just annoying.
You say playing 5 hours a day to remain competitive is grind? Thats not even close right now. All the "top" guilds are grinding right now, and when everyone is done no way is anyone with a PvE character that hasn't grinded going to be able to survive. Options=power and that's what we've been trying to get at for a long time but people don't read or just dont understand how the game works and refuse to listen.

If there was a different way to get elite skills, it would solve nothing. The hardcore PvP players would soon be back complaining that they still need to invest heavy time into PvE. (if you want to get all the skills, experiment with different combos ect....) Changing this will not solve the issue. PvP players will still need to play alot of PvE, and I fear that if the get this they will not stop there.
|
Stop assuming things please. If there was a different way to get Elite Skills alot of people would be happy. If it was through PvE I probably would be upset because the game isn't living up to it's promise. Why should PvP players HAVE to play PvE to remain competitive? Because some people think that the argument "the devs want you to play their game" makes sense? The devs made PvP and PvE so a person wanting to play any portion of the game should be able to do so without the finger pointing of others.
If ArenaNet made it so that to start an RP character you had to have a 100 game win record in Tombs, only could get elite skills off of flawless victories, and could only find runes if you critical hitted someone 3 times in a row how would that make people feel? Forced to do PvP just to do some PvE doesn't look good, and neither does the vice versa.
Some people are happy only knowing a few skills and having one build. But ask the players that have been around playing at the higher levels of PvP, one build wont get you anywhere. Forcing people to do things doesn't make the game fun. The picture is bigger than "it's only been 2 weeks and people are complaining". It's about having a level playing field and right now he who puts more time in isn't going to be more skilled, he is going to be more powerful by default off of options. In a game where flexibility is the defining factor of how much potential power builds can exude, not having a level playing field is just going to stall the advancement of the competitive nature of the game and leave those w/o enormous amounts of time on their hands out in the cold.
